Abstract

This paper illustrates the role of Global Citizenship Education in the Austrian educational system, as regards its implementation on an institutional scale as well as when teaching history and politics in schools. It aims to highlight the importance of the historical approach towards Global Citizenship Education and provides the reader with didactic considerations.
