This article examines the extent to which Entrepreneurship Competencies are part
of the initial teacher training. Entrepreneurship is defined in a broad sense as the
ability to generate ideas and to transform them into economic, social or cultural
values. The curricula analysis carried out in the area of secondary vocational
education draws on the competency model of the European Union. It comes to the
conclusion that mainly those competence areas are promoted in the analysed
learning outcomes, which concern the capacity to act and the handling of
resources. Furthermore, the results allow a general insight into conditions and
possibilities of Entrepreneurship Education in teacher education. The paper
concludes with a critical reflection on the dangers of a one-sided
instrumentalization of Entrepreneurship Education.
