Abstract

Discourses on questions of digital transformation characterized by digitalization, automation, networking and the associated opportunities and risks have been conducted in various ways in recent years. New skills will be necessary in the future in order to master the “new digital world”. It is no longer just about the application of technical skills, but about a deep understanding of the possibilities, challenges and ethical questions that are required for a responsible use of the new media. Some framework programs define and show competencies that can meet these demands in the 21st century. Key factors, often defined as 4 Cs (collaboration, critical thinking, communication and creativity), are central factors in most programs. Vocational training addresses on the organizational levels of company, school, university and adult education to prepare learners for these future requirements. Vocational training research presents findings that were presented and discussed at the first Grazer Vocational Training Congress with the title “Skills4Future”. This volume of the didacticum is dedicated to the first Grazer vocational training congress.
