Abstract

Due to current and future challenges such as globalization, individualization, digital transformation and the need for sustainable development social transformations are required. To cope with these transformations’ various professional competencies, future skills are necessary. Assuming that professional competencies can be learned and trained the teaching of professional knowledge, as a pillar of a teacher’s professional competencies, forms the core of university studies. This can also be considered as a frame of reference for the necessary competencies of “Sachunterricht” (general science) teachers. However, due to its special unique features of multiperspectivity and interconnectedness of perspectives, “Sachunterrichtsdidaktik” requires the development of a subject identity on the part of the teachers. The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method will be tested as a contribution to the development of a subject identity and future skills and the potential of the method will be highlighted.
