Professionelle Entwicklung von Lehrpersonen, Transition Primarstufe - Sekundarstufe

Abstract

The transition from primary to secondary education is an important stage in school life for children, preparing for new challenges and changes. Using the biological content of science lessons, the transition to biology and environmental education at secondary level is examined.

In the networking project presented, expectations, subject-specific knowledge and pre-concepts, origins and requirements were also investigated in detail regarding the curricula of both types of schools. For this purpose, students in the teacher training program for biology and environmental education and students of the teaching profession for the primary level were networked for a joint analysis and planning. The results gave valuable insights to the students, knowledge about more teaching options and assistance for their future work with the pupils. Furthermore, this networking and joint development trained the students’ teamwork skills, communication skills and their ability to reflect. Regarding teacher training, such insights can also be useful in future teaching-learning concepts. Overall, it is shown that the networking of teachers already has great potential during their studies.
