Abstract

This article presents the Renewable Energy Laboratory at the Voitsberg Vocational
School in West Styria. Starting with the history of its origins, the legal requirements,
the possibilities and opportunities, but also the demands and challenges of teaching
in terms of technical and pedagogical sustainability are described using the example
of a Styrian vocational school. Furthermore, technical and normative innovations, the
shortage of skilled workers and the current number of apprentices are discussed.
